From Idea to App in 24 Hours: The Lovable.dev Method

Lovable.dev is not a website builder. It's a full-stack engineer that never sleeps, never argues, and works in plain English. Here's how to use it properly.

Hours 0–2: Define the MVP

Use Claude to sharpen your idea: 'I want to build X. What is the absolute minimum feature set to validate this with real users? List the 5 core features only.' Ruthlessly cut scope. A focused MVP ships faster and teaches you more.

Hours 2–6: Write the Build Prompt

This is the most important step. A vague prompt gives a vague app. Be explicit: user types, data models, pages, actions, edge cases. Spend an hour writing a great prompt and save three hours of corrections later.

Hours 6–12: Iterate With Lovable

Submit your prompt. Review what Lovable builds. Chat to refine: 'The dashboard needs a sidebar nav. Move the stats cards to the top. Add a CSV export button.' Each iteration takes minutes, not hours.

Hours 12–20: Add Payments and Auth

Lovable integrates with Stripe and Supabase Auth out of the box. Ask it to add login, subscription billing at £X/month, and a customer portal. This used to be weeks of work.

Hours 20–24: Launch and Market

Deploy to Vercel or Netlify. Use Claude to write your ProductHunt launch post, landing page copy, and first 10 cold emails. Post in relevant subreddits, Slack communities, and LinkedIn. Your first users are closer than you think.
